Tainted Grail – Galahad or the Captain & One-Eye choices result?
Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon, “Shadow of the Horn” quest is one of the final quests of Act 1, which can change the outcome of the game depending on the choices made during the quest. The two choices the players will be presented with are to either kill Galahad and side with Captain & One-Eye, or side with Galahad and kill the Captain.
There will be multiple choices that need to be selected to side with one of the NPCs. Also, selecting a few choices will result in a mission failing bug that requires additional steps to progress in the game. Below you will find all the choices and how to fix the failed mission bug.
Note: There might be some spoilers in the post, which we have tried to minimize as much as we can. If you are facing a game-breaking bug with no quest marker, scroll to the bottom of the page to find the solution.
Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon Shadow Of The Horn
While completing the quest “A World To Win“, you will meet the captain and one eye in the All Mother’s Temple. The captain will ask you to kill Galahad, and the quest “Shadow of the Horn” will commence. Visit the Camp where Galahad is located by following the quest marker, and you will be stopped by Galahad’s Squire.
The choices you need to select to meet with Galahad the Pure without making them your enemies are:
- I heard you could find Galahad the Pure here.
- You see this pin? I don’t have to tell you anything. Take me to Galahad.
Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon Galahad or the Captain & One-Eye Choices Result?
To side with Galahad, the choices you need to select while meeting him are:
- I got it from Caradoc.
- No, he handed it to me personally.
- He helped me escape the Island Asylum
- The Captain of the Horns of the South asked me to kill you. He allied himself with One-Eye.
- But I don’t want to kill you
If you side with Galahad, you need to fight the Dal Riata and the captain at the All Mother’s Temple. The captain will be declared a traitor, and Fearghas will become the new captain of the Horns of the South.
To side with the Captain and One-Eye, you need to kill Galahad by selecting any of the choices to instigate him during the conversation, such as “I came here to kill you”. After that, visit All Mothers’ temple to deliver the news to the Captain and One-Eye, where you will get two choices.
- I’m listening.
- I’m just here for Excalibur. The rest is your problem.
Selecting the first option will continue the quest, and you will visit the Sewal Crypt to learn about Arthur’s greediness. Selecting the second option will make the mission fail.
After coming out of the Arthur Crypt, you will again be stopped by the Captain, who will ask you to tell the story of Sewal to Fearghas to convince him that it is not a conspiracy by the Captain. The two choices you will get are:
- That makes sense. I’ll help you convince Fearghas.
- It looks like a conspiracy to me, too.
Select the first option to talk with Fearghas and continue with the quest, and complete it. Selecting the second option will break the game.
Note: Siding with Galahad will eliminate the Captain, the tribes won’t be united, and you won’t be able to know the secrets of Arthur in the Sewal Crypt. Siding with Captain & One-Eye will let you know the secret of Arthur and the Round Table knights in the Sewal Crypt. Also, you will get the Galahad Mace and Royal Butcher Armor Set by killing Galahad. But you might not get Galahad as an ally later in the game. While the game tells you to side with Captain & One-Eye, it depends on you, as the choices and the consequences have been laid out.
The Fall of Avalon It Looks Like A Conspiracy To Me Too Game Breaking Bug Fix
If you have selected the second option, “It looks like a conspiracy to me, too”. Every NPC in the city, including the captain, will turn hostile. The mission will fail, and there will be no quest marker available. The only option available without reverting to the previous save will be to take out Excalibur, located in the city in front of the captain’s quarters, when you enter the Horn of the South.
Taking out Excalibur with your bare hands is no easy task, as you will lose a lot of health very quickly and die. The only option is to buff yourself with food and obtain 7-8 best health potions in quick bind and use them while pulling out the sword.
