The Outlast Trials – Important Invasion Tips As An Impostor?

The Outlast Trials has introduced a PvP mode or an Invasion to let Imposters invade the Trials of the Reagents and stop them to complete the tasks in hand. Playing as an Impostor is satisfying when you play against the new players as they do not know what to do, whereas when a normal or experienced players can stun lock your character or even kill you with the bricks and bottles if you are not careful.

The game has a nice element and atmosphere, even the map is designed perfectly to scare the Reagents and catch them offguard if they are not careful. So, Is it a skill issue or a game issue if the Impostors are not able to perform or feel OP?

Important Invasion Tips If You Play As An Impostor In The Outlast Trials?

First of all, when you enter the trial as an Imposter; the Reagents get notified on how many Impostors are in the game. When the Reagents enter the Trial, Impostors are set free to kill them. However, it is still easy to distinguish as Reagents can watch the hand of the Impostors as they hold knife to kill. Therefore it is not recommended to approach the Reagents at an open area or at a long alley where they have clear view.

Create Chaos

Impostors do have a limited time which make them anxious but so are the Reagents as they have to tackle the PvE, PvP and complete the Trials at the same time. If you manage to delay them from completing the task, then they are bound to make mistake. Furthermore, pinging system confuses Reagents most of the time; so make sure you ping as an Impostor. It will not only help you to navigate but also help your ally Impostor to notify their position.

Approach

As an Impostor break the line of sight and play hide and seek with the Reagents as they have to keep on guessing whether you have entered the Insertion Gate or not which will waste their valuable time. Wait at the corner of the door or at the corner of the dark rooms in order to catch them off guard. Did we mention that it is not wise to face Reagents head on? Yes, it might work on low level players but high level players that are perked up will stun and kill you if you are impatient.

Intel

Always ping using the Camera to notify other Impostors or even before exiting the Insertion Gate to mark your target last known location. Attack them when they are either alone, separated or doing the tasks for higher success rate. You can also lure them to your other teammate if they are also pinging their location. It is not easy but it is also not difficult if you get the hang of how the Reagents are reacting to your and your teammates approach.

Whether you Slash or Stab, it doesn’t matter unless you are not giving them time to react; you will successfully kill your prey. Have a definite plan or strategy for each map. Sometime roam and get used to the map as it can prove to be useful for longer run. Killers are supposed to be OP but at rightful hand. It do feels that there need to be some adjustment made in Invasion mode but till then enjoy and learn from your failure. A proper chef is not made in a single day.
