Metal Gear Solid Delta Snake Eater – How To Parry Final Boss?
Metal Gear Solid Delta Snake Eater is a remake version of the successful and famous stealth action adventure game designed by Hideo Kojima and published by Konami. The new remake version has various and unique CQC animation for the takedown unlike the original version where only 1 type of CQC animation was available.
The CQC animation is quite easy against the normal soldiers or enemies, however, do you know that you can perform CQC move or animation against your Mentor or The Boss in the final boss fight. Successfully parrying the Boss with two unique CQC animation will unlock the associated achievement or trophy i.e. Wax On, Wax Off.
How To Parry Final Boss In Metal Gear Solid Delta Snake Eater?
To parry “The Boss“, there are certain conditions that need to be met otherwise you cannot go into the CQC animation.
First, make sure that the Camouflage equipped allows CQC. (Scientist, Technician, Tuxedo, and Major outfits do not allow CQC animation.)
Second, make sure that you do not equip any weapon/gun and chase down “The Boss“.
Finally, perform the CQC move when you are close enough; make sure that you do not press any button input when the animation is going on. When the time slows down during the animation, i.e., when The Boss attempt to hit you with her elbow; at that moment press the RT(Xbox) or R2(PS) button to counter and parry her.
How To Get Wax On, Wax Off Achievement/Trophy?
There are two CQC parry animation in the fight, therefore keep on chasing “The Boss” and attempt to get CQC move down. Make sure that you are in “New Style” rather than in “Legacy” mode. The first CQC animation is 1elbow parry against The Boss. The second CQC animation has extended 2 elbow parry against The Boss.
Simply be patience and wait for the timing or when you hear the “whoosh” sound. Similarly, 2 whoosh sound for the second CQC animation. If you fail to parry then she will slam you into the ground. It is recommended to do it in lower difficulty as in higher difficulty, the parry window or frame goes pretty low.
