If you are struggling and want to learn what stat to improve in the training then read this guide to the end.
How Each Stats Affect Your Character In Umamusume: Pretty Derby?
There are total of 5 main attributes or stats in the game i.e. Speed, Stamina, Power, Guts and Wit. Each of them have different function and they develop certain trait of the character. To get in-depth kowledge we have explained everything below.
Speed
Speed is the most important stat that you need to focus on from the beginning till end. Speed stat allows your character to increase their top speed. It is a straight forward stat and the only stat that need to be maxed if you want to rank higher whether in Sprint, or Medium races.
Stamina
Stamina is also a straightforward stat which is equally important as Power. The races will have Medium and Long tracks in the Career and if you are ignoring Stamina then it will be your doom at the End of the Career. Depending on what type of Umamusume you are building, Stamina can be 2nd or 3rd best ranking stat among all. The Front-runner and Pace runners both require high Stamina to maintain speed.
Power
Power arguably ties with Stamina as both of these stats are equally important. Power stat allows your character to kick start and accelerate from your preferred position. Not only that it also allows your character to break free from the traffic.
Power stats are important but it can be ignored if you are grooming a Front-runner. Why? because if you focus on Speed stat, the secondary upgrade would be Power which will be enough till you reach the End of the Career.
Apart from Front-runner, all the Umamusume need their Power stats to be as their 2nd or 3rd best ranking stat. Character who strategize in END or Late require more Power to break through the traffic as mentioned earlier.
Guts
Guts is a stat that allows them to duel and push them beyond their limit at the final stage of the track. At the final spurt, the Guts allow your character to reach maximum speed even if they are low in Stamina. If your character and a rival is dueling for the 1st spot, the better Guts stat will break through and win the race.
It is not a useful stat for a Front-runner or particularly in the career. However, if you are building a character then increasing Guts for Pace runner or Late runner might be useful. Though how limited time you have, it is better to ignore and pour your energy into Speed, Power and Stamina. Guts is generally the 5th ranking stat.
Wit
Wit allows your character to trigger their skills during the race. The higher the Wit, the higher the chance of triggering the skills. Even negative skills from the opponent or even getting Rushed can be ignored if players have nice points on Wit.
In the Career, Wit can be used strategically when you want to build your Energy bar. Apart from that when your Friendship meter maxes out, players can opt to increase the Wit of their character. Wit also have the lowest failure % chance compared to other stats which makes it one of the 4th high ranking stat.
