However, the game did not tell you the most important part i.e. do not spend all your currency getting a nice character or horses, but also to raise them to be a track star.
Focus On Support Cards
Go to Scout and instead of purchasing or rolling the Derby Scout; roll Support Card Scout. Why?
Opening 10x Support Card Scout guarantees a SR+ Support card. These Support Cards will be used to groom your trainees in the Career mode. A support card will be responsible for effectiveness, amplification of mood, stat gain, Recovery etc. and all sort of buffs while training.
Therefore, go to Enhance, and Level Up the higher quality Support Cards as these would be crucial
Legacy System
After selecting a character, you will have to select 2 Legacy cards to boost up the certain stats. These Legacy Umamusume can be selected from the list of Veteran Trainees or borrowed from whom you have followed.
So, it is easier to get better Legacy cards from the top Trainers that can be found in the Team Trials list at Race section. Press the “i” button i.e. next to the current rank to pull up the list of all the top rankers. Check the Profile and see if they possess the Umamusume stats complements your selected Trainee, for example- Sprint, Stamina, Wit, etc.
Choose from the Guests Tab and select their Umamusume for 3 times at max in a day. Their skills can be inherited in the process which makes these Legacy Umamusume more precious.
Training System
If you start the Training, then you will need to get familiar with certain User-Interfaces.
- At the top you have Energy Bar.
- At the top left, you have the Days left for Race.
- At the top right, you have Mood.
- At the top right corner, you will have Support Card effects and Friendship meter.
- At the center, you have the stats.
- At the bottom, you have stats that can be trained or leveled up.
- The Failure % indicates the chance of not raising your stat per attempt.
The Energy bar depletes everytime when you increase the Stats by training them in Speed, Stamina, Power, and Guts.
To replenish the Energy bar, either you can Rest or choose to increase Wit by training. Though increasing the Wit will replenish small amount of Energy bar; therefore Resting is recommended.
Friendship Meter
When you are at Training Phase and focusing on which stats to increase, make sure you are looking at the top right corner to check the Support card and how much bar are filled up.
Sometimes, the icon will have “!” mark which indicates that it requires immediate attention. The Support card will provide you a hint for a particular skill. It will discount or decrease the value of Skill Point require to learn the particular skill provided by the Support Card. [Check your game Logs]
If the bar is filled up by 80% then the chances of getting bonus stats arises. It is indicated by rainbow colored glowing outline on the stat.
Stats To Focus On
All being said, you are Training to increase the particular stats of your Umamusume. It is quite beneficial to focus stats such as Sprint and Wit for Sprint type character. However, as we explained earlier about the Friendship Meter and how you get bonus stats by filling up the Friendship meter. It is essential to focus on your stat initially but if you have multiple support card effects on a certain stat then choose it to increase the Friendship meter.
Skills
Choose the Skill at the final day or before the Race. Why? Because if you get Hint from the Support Card, the Skill Points required to learn a Skill will decrease. So, you can purchase multiple skills according to your build.
Race
On the Race day, you can check the Stats of all competitors, Aptitude, Mood and Strategy.
The Strategy shows how many Umamusume has selected the type such as END, LATE, PACE, FRONT. Check your Strategy Rating to choose and confirm where your Umamusume need to perform at its best.
Goals
There are certain Goals and you have to meet all of them. If you fail to satisfy the goal condition then the Career will end as a Failure. However, you can rerun or retry the races you have lost with the help of an unique item i.e. Alarm Clock.
Although it allows you to retry the race, but it cannot be used infinitely. Maximum of 3 times it can be used. If you complete all the Goals then at the end, you will be evaluated and get the Sparks. The Sparks will be used to pass down as a Legacy to a new Umamusume trainee.
