Jackenstein Deltarune Taking Too Long How To Defeat The Boss

Jackenstein Deltarune

Jackenstein is one of the non-skippable bosses in Deltarune Chapter 4. You will encounter this boss in the old man’s study, located on the northern side. To reach Jackenstein, you must solve several piano puzzles and play the correct notes on the blue piano to unlock a gate.

Below is a brief guide on how to defeat the boss and a trick for navigating the dark maze.

Jackenstein Deltarune Your Taking Too Long How To Defeat The Boss

Once the fight begins, the screen will go completely dark. The only way to progress is by repeatedly selecting the Defend option. Each time you choose Defend, you’ll be transported into a Pac-Man-style mini-game set in a pitch-black maze. You’ll control a heart, navigating the maze to find a key while avoiding roaming monsters.

Inside the maze, you’ll spot some white or yellow dots—collecting these increases your TP meter. Gathering these dots is crucial, as the TP meter is the only way to launch an attack against Jackenstein. Once your TP is above 60%, you can select Kris’s ACT option and choose “Unleash”. In Unleash mode, you’ll chase Jackenstein’s floating face with a heart emitting light that deals significant damage. Repeating this process a few times will eventually defeat him, unlocking the climbing gear.

Note: One of the challenges during the Defend mini-game is that Jackenstein’s face will begin chasing you with the message“You are taking too long.” Don’t panic when this happens. The face only starts pursuing you after you pick up the key. Use the time before that to collect yellow dots, build up your TP meter, and familiarize yourself with the maze layout. Once you’re confident, grab the key and head to the exit door as quickly as possible.
