Tom Clancy’s R6 Siege – Black Screen Freeze & Game Crash Fix
Tom Clancy’s R6 Siege seems unplayable at the current moment, as players are experiencing random disconnection or game crash reports. Even if you connect to the game, the screen will freeze, and a black screen will make it impossible to do anything. This is yet another frustrating gaming experience the communities are encountering. After trying multiple attempts to fix the issue, we finally made it work and it somehow solved the game crashing and screen freezing problem. Here’s what I did!
Black Screen Freeze & Game Crash Fix For Tom Clancy’s R6 Siege
Initially, we checked for the Windows Driver Update. To check for the update follow the steps:
- Go to the Control Panel
- Select Device Manager
- Click on the Display Adapters
- Right-click and Update your Driver
Once it’s updated. Restart your PC and start the game in Vulkan Mode. To start the game in Vulkan Mode, you will need to follow these steps:
- Go to the Steam Library
- Click Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege
- Select Settings
- In General,
- Select Launch Options to Ask when starting the game.
- Then, Start the Game in Vulkan Mode
Additional Info:
The community is also sharing that closing the Discord Overlay will also fix the problem.
If you have followed the steps above then it should fix the issue. However, the graphics settings will be set to a minimum. Make sure, you increase the Refresh Rate to the maximum to ensure that you are getting the maximum FPS you can get in-game.
The penalty to abandon the game is quite harsh which makes it even more frustrating when it is not your fault whether it’s Standard or Ranked. Either way, we hope that Ubisoft takes notice of this problem and fix it in their next patch soon.
