Core Keeper – How To Setup Drill And Build A Best Drill Setup?

Core KeeperCore Keeper is a survival crafting sandbox game so it is natural that the game is heavily emphasized on resources. However, the game also allows players to imagine and visualize different setups to perform the tasks with all the assets unlocked. As you gain resources and keep on upgrading the Workbench, new items will be unlocked that can be crafted and progress through the game.

Similarly, there are huge Ore Boulders that can be found early in the game. The pickaxe will not work as it requires a Drill. But how to set up the drill and harvest ore from the Ore Boulders. This is important as you will encounter and find more Ore Boulders throughout the exploration. So, you cannot miss out on the opportunity to farm those much-needed resources.

How To Setup Drill In Core Keeper?

There are huge ores of minerals that you cannot mine with your standard pickaxe. For that, the game notifies you that you need a drill. Well, this is not the melee weapon drill if you are wondering. Don’t worry I have tried it already. xD

The Drill we need can be crafted from the Automation Table. The Automation Table will be crafted from the Tin Workbench. In the Automation Table, everything related to drilling is available. To power up the Drill, you will need an Electricity Generator that should be available under the Electronics Table in the Copper Workbench.

The basic drill setup would be to place the drill facing the huge ore boulder and place the Electricity Generator next to it to connect it together. The drilling will commence which will take you 2 minutes to drill an ore. To consume less time, more drills are placed on the same ore boulder i.e. maximum of 8.

What Is The Best Drill Setup?

For the best drill setup you will need to craft these items:

  1. Drills- to drill the ore boulder. The ores that are drilled will be dropped behind the drill automatically.
  2. Electricity Generator- required to power up the drills and all the electronic items.
  3. Electric Wire- used to transfer electricity.
  4. Robot Arm- used to automate resource sorting.
  5. Conveyor Belt- used to transfer resources in a single channel.

Place all the drills i.e. 8 maximum on one ore boulder. The drills should be connected to the Electricity Generator, so place the Electric Wire where it’s necessary.

After setting up the drills and generator, place the Conveyor Belts behind the drills so that they will automatically transfer the resources from one end to another. Make a single file of the Conveyor Belt which will transfer the resources to the Robot Arm.

Robot Arm also needs electricity to function so make sure that it is getting the power. Next, place the Smelting or Chest on the back end of the Robot Arm to either smelt the material or store it in the chest.

Efficiently, you can place the Smelter behind the first Robot Arm as it is picking the ores from the Conveyor Belt. The second Robot Arm will be facing the Smelter. Behind the Second Arm will be the Chest to store the Smelted Ore.
