Black Myth Wukong – What Is Behind The Waterfall Puzzle?
As we have started the Black Myth Wukong and playing through Chapter 1, there will be a waterfall close to the Resting Shrine i.e. Forest of Wolves (Outside the Forest). There is a hidden path that leads you behind the waterfall to discover and encounter a secret boss. However, it has a few requirements that you need to fulfill which are not hard to pull it off.
What Is Behind The Waterfall Puzzle In Black Myth Wukong?
Behind the waterfall, there is a huge secret boss hidden until the Destined One discovers and decimates into oblivion. However, to access the waterfall or solve the waterfall puzzle, you are required to obtain a specific key item i.e. Loong Scales. This item can be obtained in Chapter 2 Yellow Sand, Desolate Dusk. Travel to the Sandgate Village (Village Entrance), and progress forward.
How To Get Loong Scales?
After entering the village, there will be a door at the rightmost corner which is patrolled by enemies. Enter the door to encounter the twin boss i.e. King of Flowing Sands and Second Prince of Flowing Sands. Defeating the King of Flowing Sands first will empower the Second Prince, however, if you defeat the Second Prince first then the King will run away and the First Prince will be summoned already in his boss area.
Defeat the both Yaoguai Chief: The King of the Kingdom of Flowing Sands and His Son to get a key item Pungent Flesh Chunk. Either way, after the boss fights, unlock the Resting Shrine of Sandgate Village (Valley of Despair).
From the resting shrine, advance and enter the cave while sticking to the left side. Jump down the cliff to the ground where you can either summon the First Prince of Flowing Sands or it will be summoned depending on the first boss fight.
From where you have jumped down from the cliff, the shadow region there will be a unique carved stone area as shown in the image. This wall is breakable. There are multiple ways to break the wall. The easiest way is to use the Wandering Wight Spirit on the center of the wall to destroy it. Another possible way is to summon the First Prince of Flowing Sand and redirect his charge attack towards the wall. Dodge at the perfect moment to destroy the wall or create a path that you can use. Enter the area and open the chest to obtain the key item Loong Scales.
Behind The Waterfall
Now return back to the Forest of Wolves (Outside the Forest). Go to the waterfall and interact to reveal a secret path. There you will encounter the Yaoguai King: Red Loong. Defeat him to get Loong Pearl, Thunder Tail to craft Loongwreathe Staff, and a Curios i.e. Boshan Censer which reduces incoming damage when the Gourd is depleted.
The missing material for the Loongwreathe Staff can be obtained from another secret spot which we will update in our next guide.
