This title takes a different approach with having ranks and to obtain skill points, you need to complete missions and find hidden items. In this title of Assassin’s Creed, you won’t have a traditional level system. Rather your level will be determined by the rank. There is a total of 6 ranks available in the game which are:
- Initiate
- Apprentice
- Novice
- Disciple
- Assassin
- Master
Your rank determines the difficulty of certain areas of the map as it helps to find out if you can defeat certain enemies in those areas. The only way to increase your is by completing the main quest and killing the members of the orders. The hidden one rank doesn’t affect your gameplay much and you don’t need to worry about it. Simply just keep playing the game and eventually, your hidden one rank will increase as you keep progressing through the main quest.

To obtain the skill points, the best way is to progress the main story. Apart from the main story, you will come across the Bureau where you can take up contract missions. There are various types of contract missions and few of these missions will grant you skill points.
You need to interact with a contract board and hover your mouse over to mission to find the ones that will reward you skill points upon completion. There is a total of 7 lost books scattered across the map in the game, that you need to find. The 7th book will be hidden and you need to first collect all 6 to find the 7th one. Each time you find a book, you will gain one skill point.
