Starfield- Best Planet Location For Outpost Complete Guide

StarfieldIn Starfield, there are so many planets that are rich in minerals and it is crucial to locate them at the beginning. If planned correctly, you might never go dry and search for the essential resources again. Creating an efficient system and interlinking all the valuable resources to gain access throughout the galaxy is your main goal. In this guide, we have listed the best planet that you cannot ignore along with the resources.

Outpost Guide On Starfield

Most importantly when you are planning to build an Outpost, check the planet or moon surfaces to determine what type of resources can be obtained. The resources that you might need to stock and focus on will be Aluminium, Helium-3, and Iron for starters. The Outposts can be used as a Fast Travel point so even strategically laying out Outposts to connect the star system is also applicable.

Once the planet has been selected where you want to build your Outpost, you have to focus on selecting the landing spot where multiple resources should be close to each other. To check what type of resources are available in the area, bring out the Outpost beacon and on the top left side, the list of “Available Resources” will be visible.

Construction Basics

Make sure you have completed the Research in order to unlock the buildings. Considering you have placed the Outpost, make sure you do not build an Outpost on hilly or difficult terrains. First, build the Power system as it is essential to run buildings. Next, build a Storage for your Outpost and Transfer Container is a must. Finally, build the Extractor to extract the resources that the area has to offer.

On Modify Mode, create an Output Link in order to connect necessary structures in order to transfer the required Power to operate. Build Defenses to protect your base from any incoming attacks and Robots to increase the efficiency of your production. Most importantly, build a Cargo Link and Cargo Link- Inter-System in order to share the resources throughout your Outposts.

Building an Animal Husbandry Facility and a Greenhouse on a rich Flora and Fauna planet should be practiced. To build, you will need to unlock the skills related to it i.e. Zoology and Botany. Scan the planet completely and proceed further to operate and start production.

Skill Tree

The most important skill you need to unlock under the “Science” tree is “Outpost Engineering“. When you unlock the higher ranks, you will be able to research and build upgraded versions of outpost modules. At maximum rank, the cost to build the Outpost will be reduced by 50% which is beneficial.

Planetary Habitation” is a skill under the “Science” tree that will allow you to build outposts in an environment that has extreme conditions. Mainly, it will increase the maximum number of Outposts that you can build.

Geology” is a skill found under the Science Tree which is a must to have in order to increase the number of resources that can be obtained from the surface objects.

Before building, crafting, and completing research projects, you might consider investing a Skill Point to purchase a skill from the Science Tree i.e. “Research Methods“. It will reduce the amount of required resources for research.

Botany” skill is essential under the “Science” tree as you can gain additional info about the plants and allow plants to be cultivated in your outposts. At a higher rank, you will be able to harvest additional rarer resources from the plants.

Zoology” skill is also essential i.e. found under the “Science” tree because you can produce animal resources at your outposts and harvest them without hurting them. Similar to the Botany skill, you will be able to harvest additional rare resources when a higher rank is reached.
