Starfield All Traits Effects List & Best Traits To Choose

Starfield

Starfield, developed by Bethesda, stands as one of the most eagerly anticipated games in recent memory. After a remarkable 25-year journey, this new universe crafted by the studio promises an expansive space exploration experience, teeming with a multitude of activities. As you embark on your interstellar journey, the character creation process will present you with the choice of selecting three distinct perks. Among the array of 17 perks available in the game, the task at hand is to carefully choose three that resonate with your preferences.

It’s worth noting that several of these perks are interconnected, meaning that opting for one may preclude the selection of another. Your decisions will have lasting consequences, as certain paths may be mutually exclusive. It’s a pivotal aspect of the game that adds depth to your choices and molds the unique path your character will tread through the vast expanse of Starfield. Below you will find the list of all traits, their effects, and the best traits to choose.

Starfield All Traits & Their Effects

Alien DNA – Starting the game with heightened health and oxygen levels provides a significant advantage. However, it comes at a cost: the food you consume will be less effective in sustaining you.

Dream Home – This trait allows you to own a luxurious, customizable house on a planet of your choice. To gain full access to your dream home, you must pay off a 125,000-credit mortgage to GalBank. Additionally, you can opt to rent the house for a week by paying 500 credits weekly.

Empath – By aligning with the Empath trait, your companion’s combat skills respond to your actions. Positive actions will bolster their combat abilities, while negative actions will hinder their performance.

Extrovert – Exploring with human companions while possessing the Extrovert trait results in reduced oxygen consumption. However, embarking on solo adventures will lead to increased oxygen usage.

Freestar Collective Settler – Selecting this trait grants you unique dialogue options and increased rewards when interacting with members of the Freestar Collective faction. However, it comes with a trade-off: your crime bounty with other factions will rise. Keep in mind that once you choose a faction trait, you won’t be able to add others.

Hero Worshipped – Embrace the presence of an adoring fan who joins you sporadically. This fan might even be one of your crew members, offering gifts and constant chatter as they accompany you.

Introvert – For those who prefer solitary expeditions, the Introvert trait lowers oxygen consumption during solo adventures. Conversely, exploring with companions leads to higher oxygen usage.

Kid Stuff – A unique trait that lets you visit your parent’s home in New Atlantis. However, choosing this trait comes with a price: you’ll lose 2% of your credits every week as they are sent to your parents.

Neon Street Rat – Similar to the Freestar Collective Settler trait, this option offers distinct dialogue choices and better rewards when interacting with a specific faction. Expect an increase in your crime bounty with other factions if you go this route.

Raised Enlightened – By adopting this trait, you’re recognized as a member of the Enlightened faction, granting access to a chest of items in the Enlightened house in New Atlantis. Regrettably, you forfeit access to the Sanctum Universum chest and cannot combine this with other religious traits.

Raised Universal – Opting for this trait makes you a member of the Sanctum Universum faction, granting access to a treasure-filled chest in the Sanctum Universum house. Similar to Raised Enlightened, you lose access to the Enlightened chest, but you can use this chest to store your belongings.

Serpent’s Embrace – Devote yourself to the Great Serpent with this trait. Grav jumping becomes essential for reaping its benefits—a boost to health and oxygen. Neglecting regular jumps will have adverse effects, reducing your health and oxygen levels.

Spaced – This trait enhances your health and oxygen levels during space exploration. However, once you return to a planet’s surface, your health and oxygen will decrease.

Taskmaster – With this trait, crew members or companions automatically repair their respective areas of expertise. But keep in mind that hiring these skilled crew members will cost you twice as much.

Terra Firma – Choose Terra Firma to enjoy heightened health and oxygen levels while exploring planetary surfaces. However, venturing into space will result in decreased health and oxygen.

United Colonies Native – Similar to the Neon Street Rat and Freestar Collective Settler traits, this option provides special dialogue choices and increased rewards from interactions with the United Colonies faction. Expect an increase in your crime bounty with other factions if you choose this path.

Wanted – Embrace the life of a wanted individual with a constant bounty on your head. Armed mercenaries will frequently attempt to eliminate you, offering opportunities for looting valuable items and credits. Notably, your damage output increases when your health is low.

Starfield Best Traits To Choose

When starting your adventure in Starfield, there are several highly appealing traits that can greatly enhance your experience. Some of the standout options to consider include Kid Stuff, Dream Home, Hero Worshipped, Raised Universal, Raised Enlightened, and Wanted. These traits offer unique benefits that can shape your journey in exciting ways.

Among the most distinctive traits are Kid Stuff and Dream Home. With Kid Stuff, you’ll have the chance to reconnect with your parents and explore a heartwarming aspect of the game. Dream Home, on the other hand, allows you to create your dream abode in the game world. It’s important to note that should you encounter challenges while pursuing these traits, there is the option to remove them by completing specific tasks. This can be especially helpful if you’re seeking a smoother gameplay experience.

However, it’s essential to exercise caution when deciding to remove a trait. Once you’ve made the decision to remove a trait, that choice becomes permanent. Subsequently, you won’t be able to reinstate the trait later on, regardless of the stage you’re at in the game.

As you embark on your interstellar adventure, carefully consider these early-game traits and their potential impact on your gameplay. Each option presents a unique opportunity to shape your character’s story and journey through the cosmos in Starfield.
