There are various ways to obtain gold coins in this game, and the most effective method is by recruiting kids to work for you. To recruit a kid, drop a coin near them and then purchase a hammer from the shop for three coins. To drop a coin, you need to just press the down arrow or S button. The kid will then transform into a worker who will chop trees on your behalf. When chopping a tree, you need to use a coin, but it will be returned to you once the tree is chopped. Hold the down arrow or S key to chop trees.

Another option is to recruit kids and turn them into archers to defend your walls and hunt animals. Hunting animals will also yield coins, which the archers will collect and give to you when you pass by them. Once all the animals are hunted within your base, you can expand it. However, before expanding, you must first chop down all the trees in that specific area.

After collecting enough gold coins, expand your base to discover new areas such as a swimming area, fishing area, kitchen, and bushes where the recruited kids will work and generate gold coins for you. Once these areas are unlocked, it’s time to defend your base during the night. Ensure that the barricades near these areas are at least level 3. If a barricade is broken, your base size will shrink, and these areas will become inaccessible again, no longer generating any gold coins.
