Dredge- All Endings, How To Get Original And Secret Ending
Dredge is a single-player indie adventure role-playing game that involves fishing and learning about the horrid past and himself. Amnesia and waking up in an unknown foreign land, you will have to start earning money to survive. There is more to than only catching and selling all the aquatic animals to various vendors. The interaction with the locals reveals the troubled stories of the past and so the journey begins to see the end of it.
Speaking of the end there are 2 Endings to the game. First is the Original Ending and second are the Secret Ending. To learn how to get both Endings and obtain the achievements “Unshackled“, and “Sated” for respective endings; complete reading this post.
All Endings, Original And Secret Ending At Dredge
The normal ending or say the original ending is said to be a bad ending which is self-explanatory when you see the cutscene after dropping all 5 relics. However, the secret or alternate ending is said to be a good ending due to the plot and story it unravels.
How To Get Original/Bad Ending
After collecting all the relics, you will have to return to the Blackstone Isle to have a chat with the Collector in the Ruined Mansion. After the dialogues and option selection, if you select “I’m ready“; there is no turning back and the sequence will play. The final voyage.
At night, undock and go towards the mysterious red light i.e. coming from the ocean. Once you reach the location, the ritual will begin. In the end, the ritual will be successfully completed; resurrecting her wife as well as releasing an unknown monster free to create havoc. (Like the past)
How To Get Alternate/Good Ending
On the map, there is a couple of islands in P10. Visit the island in P10 near Devil’s Spine i.e. Makeshift Dock. You will talk to the Old Mayor who will reveal the true horror. Later, you will have to visit Greater Marrow again in order to talk to the Lighthouse Keeper.
Inquire about the silver and crimson book and she will reply the same that the book should be returned for your and her sake. Moving on is the only option to avoid such a disaster.
Next, go back to the Collector where an extra option should be presented i.e. “Tell me more about the book of yours.” Pressure him and the truth will be revealed. The past will unravel and you will be able to connect the dots of the event that happened from the beginning. “Take the book” from your former self and return back to the Lighthouse Keeper.
Converse with the Lighthouse Keeper and she will guide you to the place by pointing the light to a specific location. Throw the book into the water, and calmly wait for the nearing end as you will be reunited with your wife in the afterlife. The cloud will be lifted and the Northern Lights can be viewed at the night.
