In Slime Rancher 2, there are various different types of minerals you can obtain by exploring the rainbow island. These minerals can be obtained from the science nodes that can be found in various regions. You need to store these minerals inside the refinery to be able to craft various gadgets from the fabricator. To be able to extract these science nodes, you need to first craft the Resource Harvester upgrade from the fabricator.
You can store these minerals in your vacpack and then bring them back to your conservatory or send them directly to the refinery from the refinery link. These minerals will directly be sent to the refinery that can be used to craft gadgets later. You will not be able to take these minerals out from the refinery. Some of the gadgets require more than one upgrade to get fully upgraded. These gadgets require more minerals than others. Below you will find two such minerals called lava dust and primordy oil.

To find the Lava Dust in this game, you need to visit the Ember Valley lava area. To visit the Lava area, you need to keep going deep inside the ember valley till you find boom largo. There you will find some geysers splurting out some lava that looks sparkling. You need to harvest these science nodes to obtain Lava Dust.

To find Primordy oil, you need to visit the starting area of the ember valley by destroying the pink Gordo in the rainbow fields. Once you reach ember valley, look for the geysers with black oil coming out of them. You need to harvest these science nodes to obtain Primordy Oil.
