Mount And Blade Bannerlord can be a little confusing at the beginning of the game. The game lets you create your own character and choose their culture. There is a total of 6 cultures in this game you can choose.

In this post, I will talk about a brief description of these cultures and the attributes they will increase. After selecting your culture, you need to choose your parents and a bit about your childhood. These choices will affect your character attributes, so you need to choose wisely.

Mount and Blade Bannerlord Cultures

Vlandians: They are the descendants of adventurers from the west who lived under the Empire and later formed their own independent kingdom. Vlandians prefer to fight with spears and lances on horseback. (20% more upgrade XP to troops from battles).

Sturgians: They are the descendants of the foreign tribes of northern Calradia who expanded themselves into the cold forests. With the help of Nord mercenaries who migrated into their realm, they formed their own culture. Sturgians are really good hunters and wanderers, travelling in search of opportunities for both trade and plunder. (20% less speed penalty from snow).

Empire: The Calradian Empire is torn by political rivalries after the murder of their Emperor. Various factions are in open war still the Calradian endure. With more advanced technology from their neighbours, they have mastered engineering in various architecture and massive city walls. (20% construction speed bonus to town projects, wall repairs and siege engines).

Aserai: They are the inhabitants of the Nahasa desert, a mixture of nomads and farmers. Famous for their horsemanship and knowledge of medicine gained from the most lucrative trade route. If united by a charismatic leader, they can become one of the major forces of the south. (Caravans are 30% cheaper to build. 10% less trade penalty).

Khuzaits: They used to live a nomadic life until recently settled in the eastern frontier of the empire and transforming into an agrarian society with permanent town centres. With a great affinity for their horses, they are the masters of mounted archery, shooting and galloping out of reach. (10% extra speed bonus for horsemen on campaign map).

Battanians: They still remember their old days in the woods stretched across northern Calradia before the Empire and its cities violated their sanctity. These fierce warriors are loyal to their traditional ways and paint their faces before going to battle. Their noblemen prefer to fight on foot while using great axes and two-handed sword. (Forests give 10% less speed penalty to parties).

There is a total of 6 questions you need to answer, which will determine the attributes of your character. The question is:

Family: Which family would you like to born?

Early Childhood: As a child, you were noted for?

Adolescence: Growing up, you spend most of your time?

Youth: As a youngster growing up in Calradia, the war was never too far away. Your role in the war?

Young Adulthood: Before you set out for a life of adventure, your biggest achievement was?

Story Background: Due to war, your life was upended and your home was ravaged. You left the village with your family and two younger siblings. Your parents were slain and siblings were kidnapped, you and your brother survived because?

Note: All these questions have 5-6 answers out of which you need to select one. These answers will determine your character Vigor, Control over weapons, Endurance, Cunning, Social Skills and Intelligence. You can hover your mouse over these answers to check which attributes are increasing and choose according to your play style.
