How To Fish In Animal Crossing New Horizon Guide Tips

Animal Crossing New Horizon is the latest game developed by Nintendo and is the 5th series of the franchise animal crossing. If you are new to this game just like me, you might be wondering how to catch those fish.

After setting up your tent and helping Nook collecting the branches and fruits, you will have to craft a fishing rod. With that fishing rod, you need to catch a few fish and give it to Nook.

To complete the first main quest, you need to give Nook 5 different kinds of fish and bugs combined. After giving it to him, he will ask you to set up a tent for his friend “Blathers” who will invest in Island.

You can either catch a butterfly, find insects near the beach rocks or try to catch fish. In this post, I will present you with some tips on how to catch fish in Animal Crossing New Horizon.

How To Catch Fish?

To catch fish, first of all you need to select the fishing rod in from your backpack and place it on your hand. After that go near the river or pond and look out for shadows of fish.

See in which direction they are moving and then throw the hook a bit in front of them. After that the fish will try to bite the hook, check for the hook going underwater and little vibration occurring on your joycons.

That’s when you press A and reel in the fish. You need to keep pressing A and after a few seconds you will catch the fish.

You may also find some big fishes in the river, which are quite hard to catch with a flimsy rod. They only bite the hook twice and then disappear the river, so you need to be fast while catching them or wait to craft a better fishing rod.

Note: While searching for fish don’t run near the banks of the river, sometimes the fish get scared and disappers into the water.
