Anthem devs have released a new massive patch to fix various different bugs, errors, and other problems which have been plaguing the players who are playing the game.

But it is now being reported that with the recent patch. a significant number of players are unable to start the game after updating the game. it either just won’t start or is stuck in an infinite loading screen.

Make Changes to Nvidia Settings

For this, you will need to follow the steps listed below

  • Go to the Nvidia Control Panel.
  • Now click on the Manage 3D Setting.
  • Then select the Program settings Tab.
  • Now Click the Add Button.

From here select Anthem from the List. if you do not find the game just click Browse and navigate to the game’s.exe file location. it can be found in the location where you installed the game. the default location for it would be

  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Anthem\Anthem.exe

Once you find the file select it and then click Open. now exit the Nvidia control panel and start the game. this should fix your problem.

Force Anthem’s Self Repair

Another possible reason for this error is the possible corrupted installation. so go to the folder where you installed Anthem. the default path of the installation is

  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Anthem.

Here you need to delete the Anthem.exe file. now start the game from the Origin’s Launcher and it should start a self-repair. during the repair, the game will prompt you to select the installation path.

For this, you need to select the path where you already have the Anthem installed which is basically the path listed above.

Disconnect Extra Peripherals

There have been reports that using gaming hardware such as Gamepads, controllers, joysticks and more are causing problems with the startup for Anthem.

So try disconnecting all the extra hardware and then try starting it. once it starts you can plug your controllers again and you will be able to play with them.

Update Or Downgrade Graphic Drivers

You should try updating the graphics to the latest version if you are running an old version. but if you have updated the drivers then try downgrading the drivers to an older version and it might help start the game.

Close Overlay Problems

If you are running programs such as MSI Afterburner, Geforce recording, and other programs which in any way interacts with the game. then close it and try starting the game again.

Complete Reinstallation

If nothing helps then you might have to completely uninstall the game and along with it, you should also uninstall the origin Launcher. then reinstall everything.

It is the most tedious and frustrating solution but it has also worked for some players. so it might work for you.
