Red Dead Redemption 2 is the latest wild west adventure action game set in a massive open world environment and comes with both single player and online multiplayer.

The new iteration will be the prequel to the 2010’s RDR 1 and brings many old and new mechanics. you will dueling, hunting, swimming, fishing and much more. furthermore, you will get the taste of the beginning of the end of the wild west.

Throughout your playthrough, you will be able to complete many different side missions, challenges, and table games.

The High Stakes Treasure is also one of the many side quests in which you need to collect different treasure maps clues and finding it will give you a hefty reward for your trouble.

Below you will find a guide on how to begin the quest and the location of all the treasure map clues. this way you will be able to get to it quickly and easily.

Getting the Treasure Quest

You will be able to get this treasure map from a random Treasure hunter. this particular hunter gets marked as a chance Encounter when you get near him.

But the only problem with getting this treasure quest is that it does not have a fixed location on the map. but the good news is that it spawns in one of the eight locations.

So first you need to complete the story mission The New South in Chapter 3. this will trigger the event and the Treasure hunter will spawn. you need to look for him in one of the eight locations listed below.

Location #1 – in the area northeast from Strawberry town(this town is present in the southwestern part of the map).

Location #2 – in the area east from Strawberry town near Dakota River. (the town is located in southwestern part of the map).

Location #3 – in the area south-east from Wallace Station and west from Dakota river. (the station is present on the western part of the map).

Location #4 – in the area south-west from Caliban’sea. (Caliban is present south from Valentine).

Location #5 – in the area present north from the first Letter “E” of the word Newhanover. (the new Hanover can be found on the southeastern part of the map).

Location #6 – in the area around the Letter “H” of the word Newhanover. (newhanover can be found on the southeastern part of the map)

Location #7 – in the area below the letter “hea” of the word The Heartlands.

Location #8 – in the area below the letter “and” of the word The Heartlands.

As mentioned above if you get near him you will be notified with the words Chance Encounter. then you need to lasso him and he will drop the map or you can just kill him.

If you get three encounters and you still did not get the map then you will be able to buy the map from the Fence Vendors. you can use the guide below to find the location of Fence.

Treasure Map 1

This place is located on the western side of the map. you will need to go to Cumberlands Falls which is present southwest from Valentine and east from Wallace Station.

Below the waterfall, on the right side, you will see a wooden log going behind the falls. go through it, climb a ledge and you will get the treasure map.

Treasure Map 2

This place is located in the northwestern part of the map. you will need to Barrow Lagoon present right below the word “M” of the word Ambarino.

Here you will need to walk up the little hill and you will see a broken tree stump present between two rocks. you will get the treasure from the stump.

Treasure Map 3

This place is located in the northern part of the map. you will need to go to Bacchus Station and from there go north-west towards the river.

You need to go to the top of the mountain and then when you reach the edge and facing towards the river go down and follow the left path. keeping moving left until you drop down and reach a crevice.

Here you will find three gold bars and each of them can be sold for $500 which means you will get $1500. you can sell the bars to Fence vendor, below you will find the location of all Fence vendors.
