Red Dead Redemption 2 – Rock Carving Location/Geology For Beginners
Red Dead Redemption 2, the most awaited game of the year has been finally released by Developer and Publisher Rockstar Games and Studios on Xbox One and PS4. it will the third installment of the Red Dead Franchise.
The latest game features a massive open world based on the wild west. you will find over 100 hours of single-player gameplay and also features an online multiplayer world.
Rock Carving Location/Geology For Beginners In Red Dead Redemption 2
While progressing through the story you will be able to complete many different sidequests and unlock Achievements.
The Geology For Beginner’s Quest is one of the many Stranger missions you can complete in the game. in this particular quest you will need to find ten different Carvings.
So below you will find a guide on how to begin the quest, location of all the 10 carvings and how to get the achievement.
Geology For Beginners Quest
To start the quest you will need to go to the western part of the map. here you need to go north-west from Strawberry and you will find a hut. talk to the man and you will begin the carving finding quest.
Location Of All Rock Carvings In Red Dead Redemption 2
Rock Carving #1 – it is present in the northern/topmost side of the map. you need to go to Whinyard Strait which is present west from Grizzlies East and northeast from Grizzlies West.
Once there just go the Letter “H” Of the word Whinyard and then look the carving just at the side of the river.
Rock Carving #2 – it is present at the northwestern part of the map, in Grizzlies West region. the carving is at the end of the road of Mount Hagen.
Just look at the map and you will found a road below the Letter “M” of word Mount Hagen. the carving is present on the mountainside.
Rock Carving #3 – it is present in the northern side of the map. you need to go to Bacchus Station located west from Grizzlies East.
Once there look at the map and go below the Letter “S” Of the word Bacchus Station. here you need to climb to the top of the hill and then look towards the river, now look for a narrow ledge like path on the left, follow it and you will find the carving.
Rock Carving #4 – it is present in a location slightly towards north from the center of the map.
You need to go to northwestern side of the Cumberland. you will find it on north of the bridge, on the west side of the creek.
Rock Carving #5 – it is present in the northeastern corner of the map, near Roanoke Valley. once here you need to look at the map and then go left from the Letter “N” of the word Roanoke(which is written horizontal on the map). you will find the carving on a rock on top of a hill.
Rock Carving #6 – it is present in a location slightly east from the center of the map. you need to go to south-east from Moonstone pond. you can find the carving on the side of the hill on a small rock.
Rock Carving #7 – it is present in the eastern part of the map. you need to go the northeastern part of the Elysian Pool(located below Annesburg). here you will find the carving on a rock on top of the hill.
Rock Carving #8 – it is present in the southern part of the map. you need to go northwest from Flatneck Station, you will find the carving at the very top of the mountain.
Rock Carving #9 – it is present in the western part of the map. you need to go northeast from Hawk Eye Creek. just open the map and go left from the Letter “T” of the word West.
Here you need to go to the edge of the mountain and you will see a path leading down where you will find the giant skeleton. from here move to the path below and you will find the carving on the mountainside.
Rock Carving #10 – it is present in the western side of the map. you will need to go to the southwestern part of Owanjila lake(present west from Strawberry). it is located on a rock at the side of the lake.
Mail 10 Co-ordinates to the Post Office
Now you need to go the any post office and then talk to any clerk and press left direction to mail the coordinates to Francis Sinclair.
Check Mail after 2 Days Of Sending It
After mailing the coordinates you will need to wait for 2 days. you can either wait for two days by sleeping or doing other missions and quests of Red Dead Redemption 2.
After 2 days head back to the post office and check your mail. you will find an item titled “Invitation From Francis Sinclair” and some rewards.
Return To Francis Sinclair
After getting the invite you need to wait for a few hours and a white icon will appear the map which will mark Francis. just note that you need to wait for the icon to show up on the map. if it does not appear sleep for half a day and it should reset.
Once you get the icon, go to Francis and get inside the house and you will learn that he has been dead for years.
What Happened?
Well it seems like Francis Sinclair is a time traveller and the carvings shows the future. he might have travelled through one of the carving portals and have been stuck here. so he assign’s you the task to find all the carvings to get back to his timeline.
