Red Dead Redemption 2 will the next addition to the Read series and the sequel the 2010’s RDR 1. it is a western-themed action-adventure created by Developer and Publisher Rockstar Studios and Games.

In the new game, you will play as Arthur Morgan who is an outlaw and a member of Dutch Van der Linde gang but after a certain robbery, he had to flee from the most deadly bounty hunters and officials of the lands.

While progressing through the game you will be able to unlock many different items, find treasure, use weapons, fight wildlife and more.

The Legendary Animals are one of the many animals you will encounter in the game and hunting them down can earn you achievements like Skin Deep, Zoologist and more.

Below you will find the details on what are Legendary Animals and where you can find them in Red Dead Redemption 2.

What Are Legendary Animals And Their Benefits

These animals are unique animals of a specific species and when killed they drop legendary pelts. these pelts are highly valuable and can be used to craft trappers and special clothing items.

If you somehow lose the legendary pelt it will be transported to the Trapper so you will never miss this reward once you get it.

Furthermore collecting these animals also completes one of your requirement towards the Compendium.

How To Find Legendary Animals

To find these unique creatures you need to ride to a particular location and when you get near a legendary animal its icon will appear on the map. it always looks like an animal with a crown on the map.

Once you enter the legendary animal area you will get the following notification on the top left corner of the screen.

“You have entered Legendary Animal Territory. Hunt this Legendary Animal by finding and inspecting clues”.

This will indicate that the animal has spawned in the area. if for some reason this notification does not appear in the location present on the map.

Then you need to create a campsite here and complete any other task and return later. remember if you do not get the notification the animal will not spawn.

Once you get the notification you need to begin searching for clues in the surrounding areas. you need to press Left Stick + Right Stick to search for them.

If you get the required clue a trail for the animal will appear. now all you need to do is use Deadeye and mark it with R1/RB and then use your firepower to bring it down.

Legendary Animal Locations In Red Dead Redemption 2

#1 – Legendary Bharati Grizzly Bear – can be found in northern/topmost part of the map. you need to go to Grizzlies present east from Bacchus Station and Fort Wallace and west from Annesburg. the exact location the place would be slightly top but between Letter “I” and “E” of the word Grizzlies.

#2 – Legendary Moose – can be found in the northeastern/topmost right corner of the map. you need to go northeast from the Roanoke Valley until you reach the end of the map.

#3 – Legendary Beaver – can be found in the eastern/rightmost side of the map. just south from Annesburg and west Van Trading you will find a river. the beaver can be found on the riverside(the river look like a Y on the map.)

#4 – Legendary Boar – can be found in southeastern part of the map. here you need to go to the Bluewater Marsh. once there look at the map and go to the location right above the Letter A of the word Bluewater.

#5 – Legendary Alligator – can be found in southeastern part of the map. you need to go the location present southwest of Lagras Lake and west from Lakay.

#6 – Legendary Fox – can be found in southeastern part of the map. you need to go to the location just below the Mattock Pond. the mattock pond is present northeast from Rhodes.

#7 – Legendary Coyote – can be found in southeastern part of the map. you need to go the location present south from Rhodes and west from Eris Field. you just need to go below the large letter “L” from the word “Lemoyne”.

#8 – Legendary Big Horn Ram – can be found in the location slightly west from Valentine. here you go down from the Letter T of the word “Grizzlies West” and you will find it.

#9 – Legendary Elk – can be found on the northern part of the map. you will need to go to Fort Wallace (located on the east of Grizzlies East.

#10 – Legendary Wolf – can be found on the northern corner of the map. here you need to head towards Cotarra springs located west from Grizzlies East.

#11 – Legendary White Bison – can be found on the northwestern corner of the map. you will need to go to Lake Isabella. once you reach there you need to head towards northeastern part of the lake. you will find it roaming at the side of lake.

#12 – Legendary Buck – can be found in southwestern part of the map. you need to go down from the Letter “B” of the word “Big Valley” and you will find it.

#13 – Legendary Tatanka Bison – can be found in the southwestern/bottom left part of the map. it is located south-west from Thieves Landing, South from still Water Creek and north-west from Manteca falls.

#14 – Legendary Pronghorn – can be found in the place located west from Rio Del Lobo Rock and east from Rio Bravo.

#15 – Legendary Cougar – can be found in the location slightly south from the center of the map. you need to go west from Tumbleweed towards the Letter “T” of the word “Gaptooth Ridge” present on the map.
