Pathfinder: Kingmaker – Game Won’t Start/ Load Fix
Pathfinder: Kingmaker has been released on PC by Developer Owlcat Games and Publisher Deep Silver. it is an adventure strategy role-playing game where players explore a new region and try to conquer it.
The game features a real-time combat system with an isometric perspective. as your progress, you will need to make decisions as a lord which will affect the game.
Game Won’t Start/ Load Fix For Pathfinder: Kingmaker
The game has finally arrived on PC but has also brought many different bugs and glitches which are making the game unplayable.
Issue – One of the issues is the game not starting/ Loading, players have reported that either the game just won’t start or it just gets stuck on the loading screen for a long time and even then sometimes it gets into the game menu and sometimes it doesn’t.
Below you will find a guide with some solution to this problem which may or may not work out for you.
Fix/ Solution #1
The first one is simple all you have to do is follow the steps and have some patience but it might work so why not give it a try.
- Restart your System.
- Close all your background programs.
- Then Start the game, once it is in starting process do not click anything and let it load.
Fix/ Solution #2
In the second solution, you need to run the game in Windows compatibility mode. this process has fixed the issue for most of the players. so you should try it.
To run the game in compatibility mode you need to follow the steps listed below.
- Go to your Steam Library.
- Right click on Pathfinder: Kingmaker
- Click Properties
- Then Click the Browse Local Files button.
- Here look for the game’s .exe file
- Right Click on it and Click the Properties
- Click the Compatibility tab
- Now check the box with “Run this program in compatibility mode for”
- Choose Windows 7 from the drop-down menu
- Finally, Click Apply to save the settings
Once you have completed the above step you need to check your PC date and time if it is not in your local time, then change it, and Start The Game.
Fix/ Solution #3
If the above two solutions don’t work for you then you need to wait for a patch which will fix the issues. you even email the devs with the problems.
All you need to do is go to C:/Users/[username]/Appdata/LocalLow/Owlcat Games/Pathfinder Kingmaker.
In the path above you will find the All of your .txt files and .log files which you need to send to the devs. if you can’t see the .txt and .log files then you need to enable it. you can do it by completing the steps below.
- Go to Steam
- Right click on Pathfinder: Kingmaker
- Click on Properties
- Click on “Set Launch Options” present under “General” tab
- Then type “logging” in the text field and hitting OK.
