Combat/Military/Army is the most important part of the game. winning battles from enemies will get you new territory, powers and more which you can use to progress your conquest on the battlefield.

To recruit a new army first you need to select a settlement it can be either minor or major. once selected click on raise army located on the top left of the province window. this will allow you recruit a general and other combat units.

So First let’s take a look at the Generals and how to make him stronger and more useful on the battlefield.

Generals

Each province can have a Governor assigned to it and depending on how you upgrade the Governor it will affect major parts of the game like income, debuffs, and buff to your army. The general is also affected by the two of the three main traits of the Governor that is command, governance, and zeal. only Governance doesn’t affect the Generals.

Command – The longer your General lives the more moral you will get. this will make your army stronger. so always try to increase Command as it increases the bodyguard of the General allowing him to tank more attacks. at level 4 command your general can even order Night Time Attack which is very useful against multiple enemies.

Zeal – This increase the influence of your General on your army. it creates a circular radius and the friendly units under it would have boosted morale. it is also useful when your army is taking heavy fire, sometimes some units retreat but if they get influenced by the Aura of the General they will fight longer.

Wife – A good wife can be very helpful to a general so try to get a general with a general with good traits and a good wife.
