The Forbidden Grip of the ages is another axe pommel in the new God War. but what makes it special is the fact that it is a secret pommel which can be only obtained after you decode the runes on the cloth map that comes with the special edition of the game.

The Axe Pommel is a legendary item and it will increase all of the Kratos’s Stats and also adds a concussive wave at the end of the combo.

To get the Forbidden Grip of the ages you must first go to the top of the Muspelheim Tower in Lake of Nine there you will find a Traveller at the top. to solve the runes of the cloth map you will need to kill the Traveller.

Once you clear the area, observe the floor and stand at the center of the large decorative ring present on the floor and face the Temple of Tyr with two braziers on both sides that are lit with fire.

Now you will need to input specific direction, to solve the final part of the puzzle.

1. First look forward toward Temple Of Tyr
2. Look At The Left brazier
3. Look At Temple Of Tyr
4. Look At The Right brazier
5. Look At The Left brazier (if you execute the above steps correctly you will hear a gong sound)
6. Look At Temple Of Tyr
7. Look At Ring On The Floor
8. Look At The Right brazier
9. Look At The Left brazier
10. Look At Temple Of Tyr (if you execute the above steps correctly you will hear the second gong sound)

Executing all the above sequences will cause a realm tear will appear, interact with it and you will get the Forbidden Grip of the ages.

Note if you mess up the direction sequences don’t worry just exit through the giant door located behind you and come back on the platform to reset the puzzle, and try again.
