Developer and Publisher CD Projekt Red upcoming game Cyberpunk 2077 is one of those game which gamers are pretty hyped up for. the studio behind it has only released one trailer for the game but it was enough to attract the attention of the gamers.
Now it has been 4 years since the announcement of the game and since then no in-game information has been released. people are starting to wonder if the game is even underdevelopment or not?. numerous rumors have surfaced in these past years which indicated that the studio might be having a hard time.
If you are one of those gamers who are worried about the title then you might like the new information given by the CEO of CD Projekt Red Adam Kicinski.
Recently Kicinski was interviewed by a polish business publication Puls Biznesu where he answered tons of question about the game.
He was asked if the game development is going according to schedule or not? and if the new game engine has been completed? to which he replied by saying the following
There have been no recent problems that could affect production. On the contrary – having a milestone behind us is still calmer.
The engine is up and running. Of course it will be further developed. At each of our games we had to improve the technology and this time it was the same. It must be appropriate for our needs with the specific title and the world we create and match the capabilities of the devices available on the market. Therefore, the engine needs constant updating – its modifications usually take place to a very late stage.
Now since the engine was up and running the interviewer questioned the most important question when is the game releasing? to which he answered
You have to wait patiently for the official announcement. We will not announce the date this year, will we make an announcement next year? I can’t say for certain. Commenting on the speculations would be unfavorable for us. The most important thing is to build the interest in the title which will translate into sales.
Further, in the interview, he revealed that 300 people are working on Cyberpunk 2077 which is more than both Witcher and Gwent. also, the game is going to be more expensive but according to Kicinski be more ambitious and bigger.
