EA Reduces Prices Of Hero In Star Wars Battlefront 2 After Blacklash

Star Wars Battlefront 2

Publisher Dice and Developer EA upcoming game Star Wars Battlefront 2 will be released this week but even before the release, it has managed to achieve a new record and its a type of record which no one wants to get ever.

What Happened? Well in Star Wars Battlefront 2 players can either buy the hero which they want to play or just grind through the game for hours the only problem players need to grind the game for 40 hours and it would unlock one hero.

This procedure angered the majority of fans and gamers one of those commented in the star wars battlefront subreddit and said this “Seriously? I paid 80$ to have Vader locked?”. to this one of the PR from the Star Wars Battlefront 2 made a comment which didn’t go down. you can check out the statement below.

The intent is to provide players with a sense of pride and accomplishment for unlocking different heroes.

As for cost, we selected initial values based upon data from the Open Beta and other adjustments made to milestone rewards before launch. Among other things, we’re looking at average per-player credit earn rates on a daily basis, and we’ll be making constant adjustments to ensure that players have challenges that are compelling, rewarding, and of course attainable via gameplay.

The response from EA got massively downvoted and as of writing this article, the comment has been downvoted by 571,000 people making it the most downvoted comment in the history of Reddit.

The negative feedback was enough to draw the attention of EA and they were quick to slash the price of unlocking hero by almost 75%. currently, with the new patch, the Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader can be unlocked with 15,000 as opposed to the previous price of 60,000. other characters like Palpatine, Chewbacca, and Leia can be now unlocked with 10,000 credit as opposed to 40,000.

EA made this announcement by releasing a new post on their official website. you can check out the official statement.

There’s been a lot of discussion around the amount of in-game credits (and time) it takes to unlock some of our heroes, especially Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader. Unlocking a hero is a great accomplishment in the game, something we want players to have fun earning. We used data from the beta to help set those levels, but it’s clear that more changes were needed.

So, we’re reducing the amount of credits needed to unlock the top heroes by 75%. Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader will now be available for 15,000 credits; Emperor Palpatine, Chewbacca, and Leia Organa for 10,000 credits; and Iden at 5,000 credits.

EA has also announced that on Wednesday executive producer John Wasilczyk will be taking part in a Reddit AMA to address the issue with the community.

Dice has been previously criticized for introducing loot boxes which gave users weapons, and boost cards which made the game pay to win and they issued a statement promising players to address the issue.

Star Wars Battlefront 2 will be releasing on November 17th for PS4, Xbox One and PC. for more information about the game you can visit the official website.
