Square Enix Wants To Release Games Aggressively On Nintendo Switch

Nintendo’s hybrid portable console Nintendo Switch has been a massive success for the Japanese video game giant. the sales of Switch has managed to pull the company from its struggling period and raised the stock price to the highest level in last seven years.

Towards the end of October 2017, Nintendo reported that they have sold over 7 million Switch units globally in just 7 months and is also planning to speed up the production to sell an additional of 14 million unit by the end of March 2018.

This success of Nintendo Switch was a surprise for major game developer and publisher but are now rallying to port more titles on the new popular platform. Bethesda has announced Skyrim, Doom, and Wolfenstein 2: The new colossus for the Switch. Rockstar Games has announced L.A Noire, EA has released Fifa 18 and NBA 2K18 and Ubisoft, Bandai Namco, Capcom are planning to do the same.

Square Enix’s Statement

The latest news about more games on Nintendo Switch comes from Square Enix from its Q2 briefing where they said that they are looking to port old mid ranged games and wants to make new games for the switch.

SE also mentions that Switch’s core architecture is very similar to PS4/Xbox One and with some adjustment, it is possible to make multiplatform games.
