But what everyone what to know is how the game will perform on PC, PS4, and Xbox? and the answer to this question comes from the interview between Gamespot and Jens Matthie the creative director of Machine Games.
Matthie confirmed that the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X port of the game will be coming with enhancement and the PC version will be getting first class treatment in form of uncapped framerates and everything will depend on your systems capability.
When asked about the details of the PC version of the game he replied
“We have uncapped frame rates. We are huge PC players, too, and I think all of id’s games have a very strong PC DNA in them. So it’s very important for us to make sure the PC version of the game feels as solid as any console version. And [PC] is also our primary testing platform. I am confident that PC players will be very happy with the PC version.”
Mathie further said that he wanted to port the game to as many consoles as possible and let every gamer get an opportunity to play the game. so whether you play it on a PS4, Xbox One or on the hybrid console Nintendo Switch you will get a bit different experience but it won’t matter much as it will be the same game across all platforms.
The game has been recently under the spotlight as many are claiming that the studio is promoting political agendas. so when Mathie was asked about any possible censorship he said there will be no censorship as it put restrictions on creative freedom.
“Never. That’s what Wolfenstein is to us–it’s that complete rejection of any kind of self-censorship or putting boundaries on your creative freedom…
And if you start trying to put some filter on it, it just won’t feel right.”
Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus will be released on 27 October 2017 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. a Nintendo Switch port will be coming in 2018. for more information, you can visit the official website or the steam store page.
