PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds May Get Cross Platform Support

Developer Bluehole’s PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has been a massive success the game has already topped steam charts in term of concurrent player and judging by the way its growing is soon going to reach 1,000,000 players on steam.

Following the success of the game, Brendan Greene the director of the game is planning to add more features. while speaking to GameIndustry he was questioned if PUBG will ever receive cross play support to which he replied it is still in discussion but they want to keep everything fair between players across all platform.

“We’re looking into it. We’d like to see some form of cross-play, but we think it would only be fair if it was keyboard and mouse versus keyboard and mouse, or controller versus controller. But it’s still under heavy discussion.”

No doubt that different controllers across different platforms will certainly affect the gameplay and performance of players and a player playing a First Person Shooter game with a keyboard and mouse always has a significant advantage over a player with a joystick.

But with Microsoft acquiring the publishing right of the game for consoles it is highly possible that we may see the cross play feature in PUBG in future. Microsoft has already been a part of bringing cross play into two major games Minecraft and Rocket League. the only platform who is not the part of crossplay is PS4 who gave a really bizarre excuse pissing million of gamers.

PS4 is also the platform who has not received PUBG yet and it is still unknown if the game will ever come to it or not. to add more confusion neither the devs of the game nor Microsoft is giving a clear answer whether the deal between is timed exclusive or full time exclusive.

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is currently available on steam early access for PC and will be arriving on Xbox Game Preview in late 2017 with a full release planned somewhere in 2018. for more information, you can visit the Official Website or Steam Page.
