Nintendo Switch Is Not Powerful Enough To Run A Plague Tale Innocence

A Plague tale Innocence

Publisher Focus Home Interactive and Developer Asobo Studios recently announced their new upcoming new action adventure game A Plague Tale Innocence at the E3 2017 in Los Angeles with a minute long teaser trailer but with no gameplay footage which was quite a bummer.

The game was expected to release on most of the gaming platform like PC, PS4, Xbox One and even on one of the most sold consoles of 2017 till now the Hybrid portable station Nintendo Switch. but the devs of the game have revealed a bad news for the Switch Owners.

In a recent talk with GamingBolt Chief Creative Officer of Asobo Studio’s David Dedeine said the Switch is just not powerful enough to run the game and the developers have a different vision for the game on which they can’t compromise.

Dedeine statement on the switch port tells that there is no plan for it by the Devs and the Publisher.

“No. I will not lie by just saying…power,” he said. “It’s really the power of the device. In this case it was the amount of rats we need to display. We already know that there’s too many rats, too many animations, too many AI at the same time.”

Further Dedeine was asked if they tested the game by running it on the switch to which he said that they have already done the calculation of the requirement of the game and the Switch just does not meet it. they discussed it with their publisher and came to a conclusion that switch is not the priority for now.

“We’ve done the math, and had all sorts of discussions with Focus Home Interactive (the publisher). So maybe will try, but right now the discussion we’ve had with the publisher was to not make Switch a priority.”

It is sad that the game won’t have a Switch port but there is still hope for the game as Dedeine said in his statement that they may try for the switch version it is just less important for now. I think if the game performs well in the market the developer and publisher may just come up with a Switch port.

A Plague tale Innocence is third person adventure game set up in the realistic event of 1349 France when the whole country was plagued with infected rats. it follows the story of two orphan brother and sister Hugo and Amicia trying to escape the rats and the religious psycho people after them.
