Destiny 2 will have 4K Resolution For PS4, No 4K Confirmation For Xbox One X yet

Destiny 2

Developer Bungie and Publisher Activision upcoming game Destiny 2 is one of the most awaited game of 2017. but recently the game has been the center of a lot of controversies.

It is known that Activision has signed a marketing deal with Sony in which exclusive Destiny 2 will be released but will be available only for PS4 for a time period of at least a year. for this, both Sony and the game has received a lot of hate and criticism from the gaming industry and the consumers.

Previously in an interview with IGN Live, the devs from Bungie said that Destiny 2 won’t be running be reaching 60 Fps and it is locked at 4K 30fps plus there is no confirmation of 4K for Xbox One X.

The reason for locking 4K 30Fps on consoles? Luke Smith answered:-

“The console, the PS4 Pro is super powerful, but it couldn’t run our game at 60. Our game’s this rich physics simulation where collision of players, networking, etc, and like, it wouldn’t run… there’s not enough horsepower there.”

Noseworthy further added

“But there’s tons of GPU power in the PS4 Pro. That’s why we’re doing 4K. It’s on the CPU side. Destiny’s simulation, like we have more AI to shoot, more monsters in an environment with physically simulated vehicles and characters and projectiles, and it’s part of the Destiny magic like that like 30 seconds of fun, like coming around a corner and throwing a grenade, popping a guy in the head, and then you add like five, six, seven other players in a public event that is incredibly intensive for hardware.”

And yesterday during an interview with IGN FireChat the devs of Destiny too confirmed that Destiny 2 will be 4K 30Fps on all the console and 4K uncapped for the PC version.

“We confirmed 4K for PlayStation 4 Pro, have not made any promises about Scorpio (Xbox One X) as of yet. It’s very recent development they just announced two days ago, so we are working behind the scene to see what it’s future holds for us and these are announcements that will make at some point in time,”

Everybody know that Xbox One X is more powerful than PS4 Pro and maybe it is capable of running Destiny 2 at 4K 60Fps as it does not have limitation like the Pro. But its seems like Bungie hands are tied because of the exclusive deal between Activision and Sony or another reason maybe because they are aiming for lower end console too.

Destiny 2 will be released on 6 September 2017 for PS4 and Xbox One. and on 24 October 2017 for PC. For more information you can visit the Official Website.
